Rescue - Injured Snowmobiler

The injured party, a female from the area with considerable backcountry experience had rolled her sled sustaining injuries as the sled fell on her. Her companion was able to summon help via satphone and InReach and provide an exact location as well as assess options for heli access.

FSAR responded with an Avalanche Technician and first aider to the scene via helicopter where the subject was packaged with spinal precautions and returned to Fernie and handed off to BCAS. She is thought to have a broken scapula.
