Fernie Search and Rescue were called by the RCMP to assist in the search for a missing 13yr old girl. The girl was returning to her campground where she got turned around and continued to walk in the wrong direction. She was able to text her parents who advised her to stay where she was whilst the RCMP pinged the location of the cell and dispatched an officer to her location. She was found later that night and a full scale search was not required.
