Fernie SAR called on Wednesday 26th June to provide swift water rescue technicians to help search the Bull River for a missing 20yr old and his vehicle.  The search area was in fast moving class 3/class 4 water.

The Fernie SAR swift water team was called back on Saturday 29 June to provide downstream containment for an RCMP dive team who were going to try and investigate an area where it was believed the missing vehicle had been located.  The current was too strong for the dive team who had to withdraw so instead the swift water team using a boat positioned an underwater camera in the area to try and get video footage to ascertain whether there was a vehicle and whether it was in fact the missing vehicle.

On the evening of Friday 5 July the vehicle surfaced and Fernie SAR were called for swiftwater team members to assist in securing the vehicle with a rope before daylight was lost and then returned on Saturday 6 July to help recover the vehicle in order to check if the body of the missing person was still in the vehicle which it was.
