Location Sulphur Creek, Hartley Lake Road

Two males were fishing near Sulphur Creek about 15km on Hartley Lake road when they became separated.  When one of the males was unable to find his friend he set off in his vehicle to see if he was further down the road but could not locate him.  The friend searched up and down the road for about an hour and decided that as it was getting dark he needed more help to locate his missing friend and call ed the RCMP who in turn called Fernie SAR.

Fernie SAR responded with six members who searched the side of the road for a few hours with no sign of the subject.  It was decided after a few hours of searching that nothing more could be done in the dark and it was best to return in the morning when the more dangerous areas such as the creek could be safely searched.  Upon arrival back at the SAR hall notification was received that the subject had made his own way back to town.
