This month we will be looking at map & compass skills.

There will be tabletop exercises and if weather allows we will go outside and do some micro navigation. 

This month we will be looking at winter preparedness:

Ready packs, truck, survival 

This month we will be looking at communications both at base and out in the field.

Be prepared to be outside 

this month we will be covering the Ropes for GSAR section of the manual, rope team trainees will be able to use the hours for their log and also assist the new members.

Now that we have enough snow in town we are going to finally get to do avalanche training. Please bring transceiver, shovel & probe and ideally snow shoes.

We will be looking at different search techniques and also one of our members will be updating us on a search they took part in in Australia. 

This month we will be going over the various communications equipment we use such as Radios, SPOT, In Reach and Satellite phones.

This month we will have a short refresher on the contents of a typical 24hr ready pack for summer tasks, feel free to bring your own ready packs if you want.

We will be staging a mock rescue, come prepared ready to hike the trails whatever the weather.

This month we will be covering water rescues and the role of GSAR members.
