After postponing the training due to the high levels of the river earlier this month we hope to be able to get out there. 

We will be covering shoreline rescues, meet at the SAR Hall 6pm where the swift water team will prepare to be live subjects in the water, whilst GSAR members/trainees will have a brief intro into shoreline rescue.  We will then move to the river to practice these techniques .

Please come prepared to be outside with sturdy footwear, work gloves for handling ropes and a change of clothes (just in case)

This months training will be a realistic scenario, looking at search techniques, first aid, subject packaging and transportation. Please come prepared as you would for a callout.

CASARA Spotter Training

This month we will be looking at personal survival, we will start at the base for a short presenation then move outside looking at shelter & fire building.

This month we will be covering the rope skills that all GSAR members should have, these are general skills including knots, anchors and using a handline. This is not a technical rope rescue skills training session but would benefit all members including the rope team.

This month will be looking at communications, using the radios and sat phones for a practical exercise.

This month we will start indoors at 6pm to go through Avi search organization then move outdoors to practise transceiver searchs & rescue techniques.

Plese be prepared to be outdoors and bring your personal gear (Transceivers,shovel & probes)
