SAR Management Level 1 Course

this month we will be sending out members into the field using gps coordinates. Scenario based activity.

This month we will be looking at ATV/UTV training, we have a new 6 seater UTV and would like all members to be familiar with all of the machines we have.

Training this month will involve a large incident response mock rescue. This will involve various technical teams and interaction with other agencies.

This month we will be looking at shoreline searches & rescues.

This month we will be looking at different search methods and will run a scenario outside in order to practise them.

come prepared to be outside, bring your compass and whistle.

This month we will be working on our first aid skills.

This month we will be going through helicopter protocol.

An annual training event where teams from across the Kootenays get together to train together.

This month we will be running a scenario including where you will able to practice Avalanche Transciever Skills, Pobe line and digging skills. The scenario will also require the Rope Team by setting up an organized rescue which was covered in Dec training. 

Be prepared for being outside in the snow, headlamps,  transceiver, probe & shovels. Rope team will also need their specialist equipment.
